For many years OUMC has been known as a welcoming place for persons of all ages and stages in life.
We are currently preparing for our Mystery Dinner Theater “A Perilous Night at Pirate’s Perch”. It will be presented at 6:00 p.m. Friday, February 10, Noon Saturday February 11, and 5 p.m. Sunday February 12. Tickets are available at the church office 412-828-9499. There are several entrances to the church. They include a ramp along Fifth St., Street level on Maryland Ave, and parking lot level between Fifth and Dogwood. We also have an elevator to facilitate movement between floors. The elevator is located inside the parking lot entrance.
God’s blessings,
Pastor Linda

Informal Worship
We call our informal more contemporary service Morning Star. We begin at 9 AM. Morning Star contains a message that is both biblical and can be applied to everyday life. At times we use drama or video. There is always upbeat music in an informal relaxed setting.
Sunday School at 10 AM
At Oakmont United Methodist Church we offer Sunday School for all ages. All of our teachers have clearances and training in compliance with “Safe Sanctuaries” to insure a secure learning environment for everyone. Our children’s classes are for ages nursery through adult. There is a class for high school age youth, and we offer three adult classes with a variety of styles. We hope that you will find the one that will help you grow!
Traditional Worship 11 A.M
If your idea of worship is stained glass windows and organ music, our traditional worship service is for you. We sing the old hymns of the church and hear God’s timeless truths proclaimed from the pulpit. The first Sunday of the month is communion where the table is open to all who desire a closer relationship with God.
Prayer Ministries
Believing that prayer is the lifeline to God, we are dedicated to promoting prayer in our individual and corporate lives. There are two ways of requesting prayer for yourself or a loved one.
The first is our telephone/email prayer chain. Simply phone the church office with your request or e-mail us at oakmontumc@verizon.net and we will place your request on our telephone prayer request chain. Your request will be prayed over by one of our members who will call another member with your request and so on until your request has been prayed over by several of our members.
The second is our prayer cards, which are found in the pew racks in our sanctuary. Fill one out and give it to an usher on Sunday morning.
Youth Group
Youth in grades 6 through 12 meet every Sunday evening from 6:00 to 7:30 PM during the school year. The group is led by the youth. A typical evening includes games, fun, a bible lesson and time to organize special outings and mission opportunities.
Some of the recent mission projects include visiting church shut-ins, helping special needs kids play soccer and the annual mission weekend trip to West Virginia. Adult guidance for the group is provided by Linda Sweeney and other adults from the church.
